Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, Bengaluru has appointed Dr Prasanna K S as Consultant – Medical Gastroenterology. Dr Prasanna has more than two decades of experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders. His work includes the use of endoscopic techniques such as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, EUS, ERCP, and manometry.
Dr Prasanna completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, Davanagere in 1998. He obtained his MD in General Medicine in 2002 and a DM in Gastroenterology from SGPGI, Lucknow in 2007. His training also includes work at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, Delhi, and KMC, Manipal. His experience covers the management of liver diseases, pancreatic disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr Prasanna has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His research includes work on drug-induced liver injury, varicella zoster cranial polyneuropathy, pregnancy-specific liver diseases, and portosystemic myelopathy.
