Even Hospital partners with Canara Surgicals to deploy laser-based surgical devices in Bengaluru – Express Healthcare

Even Hospital has collaborated with Canara Surgicals to introduce laser technology-based medical devices for minimally invasive surgeries. As part of the collaboration for surgical equipment supply and deployment, Canara Surgicals has deployed its Angelas diode laser, calibrated at 1470 nm wavelength, at Even Hospital’s facility on Race Course Road, Bengaluru.

The laser-based device will be used across multiple departments at Even Hospital, including vascular, interventional radiology, proctology, ENT, cosmetic, and gynaecology. The system enables procedures including endovenous ablation of varicose veins, haemorrhoidectomy for piles treatment, and percutaneous laser disc decompression (PLDD) for spinal conditions, along with other microsurgeries.

Speaking on the collaboration, Animesh Roy, CEO, Even Hospital, said, “At Even Hospital, we believe healthcare should be proactive, precise, and squarely centered around patient outcomes. Our collaboration with Canara Surgicals reflects a shared commitment to bringing advanced medical technologies that improve recovery, reduce complications, and make high-quality care more accessible. By integrating laser-enabled minimally invasive procedures across specialties, we are able to offer patients treatments that are not only clinically effective, but also far less disruptive to their everyday lives enabling faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, and a significantly better overall care experience.”

The companies stated that laser technology and fibre-optic-based procedures allow surgeons to operate with precision and limited tissue disruption compared to conventional surgeries involving larger incisions and longer recovery periods. According to the companies, laser-based minimally invasive surgeries can reduce bleeding and post-operative pain while also minimising the chances of recurrence.

The companies further stated that clinical studies conducted over the past decade have highlighted the safety and efficacy of laser diode usage in clinical settings. They added that several microsurgeries can now be completed in nearly half the time compared to conventional surgeries. These procedures also allow same-day or next-day discharge, enabling patients to return to daily activities within a few days.

“Our focus has always been on enabling better clinical outcomes with the right technology. Canara Surgicals’ latest partnership with Even Hospital marks another pivotal step in that direction, reflecting our shared vision of fast-tracking and improving patient outcomes and elevating care, while parallely reducing the emotional and financial burden associated with surgeries and long hospital stays. It also represents a remarkable evolution in care delivery – wherein Canara Surgicals’ advanced laser technology devices play a critical role in supporting better, more efficient healthcare via minimally invasive procedures,” said Shreyas S. Naik, Director, Canara Surgicals.

Even Hospital stated that it focuses on coordinated care through consultation, treatment, recovery, and follow-up supported by medical infrastructure and technology systems. The hospital also stated that its care model emphasises preventive care and continuity of treatment.

Founded in 2023, Canara Surgicals supplies surgical technologies and medical devices across India after receiving approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization. The company stated that its equipment deployments are currently concentrated across tier-1 and tier-2 cities through its distributor network.

Canara Surgicals also said it is exploring a pay-per-use model to support adoption among healthcare providers in smaller towns and expand access to surgical technologies. The company added that it plans to expand alongside Even Hospital as the hospital group increases its presence across Bengaluru and other parts of India.
