Diagnostic centre backed by Gadkari Trust and AMTZ inaugurated in Nagpur – Express Healthcare

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Memorial Diagnostic Centre in Nagpur. The facility has been developed under his leadership with the aim of serving economically disadvantaged communities across the city.

The charitable diagnostic centre offers services such as MRI, CT scans, dialysis, blood testing, and digital X-rays at minimal or no cost. It is operated by the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Gramin Vikas Sanstha and spans 6,000 square feet in a fully air-conditioned and paperless environment.

The facility is equipped with five dialysis machines and advanced digital X-ray units. It is powered by high-end servers and digital systems to ensure seamless operations. The centre has been set up to extend benefits beyond North Nagpur and reach underserved populations throughout the city.

A key feature of the diagnostic centre is the use of medical equipment manufactured entirely in India. All major machines, including a 1.5 Tesla Clarity MRI scanner and an Inspiration 64 Smart CT scanner, have been designed and produced at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam. These machines are certified by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Speaking at the inauguration, Gadkari said, “This centre reflects our commitment to ensuring that the poorest of the poor have access to cutting-edge healthcare. It combines our technological strength with social responsibility. With AMTZ’s support, we are not only providing healthcare at the last mile but also championing India’s capabilities in MedTech innovation.”

The MRI system includes MUSIC technology and a wide-bore, short-magnet design aimed at improving patient comfort and scan efficiency. The CT scanner is capable of performing high-resolution chest scans in six seconds and angiography in under thirty-two seconds.

Dr Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of AMTZ, highlighted the importance of relying on domestic manufacturing in healthcare. “This diagnostic centre is proof that India now has the capacity to design and manufacture world-class diagnostic technology within the country. This not only reduces the cost of healthcare but also increases accessibility and self-reliance in health systems,” he said.

The inauguration was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Dr Jitendra Sharma. CM Fadnavis commended the initiative and invited Dr Sharma to collaborate with the state government to replicate such diagnostic centres across Maharashtra.
