RJ Corp Healthcare has laid the foundation stone for Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati, a Mother and Child Care Hospital planned to serve the Northeast region. The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The proposed facility will have 50 beds and is intended to be NABH-accredited. Planned services include maternity, gynaecology, IVF, paediatrics, and neonatal care. The hospital will be spread across one acre and will bring clinical services for women and children under one location. Once functional, it is planned to operate as a referral centre for the Northeast.
The project also includes employment generation and community engagement. It is expected to create over 700 direct and indirect jobs and collaborate with local partners for procurement, logistics, and service operations. Additional activities will include preventive health camps, vaccination programmes, and wellness initiatives focused on women and children. The plan also includes health awareness and literacy efforts.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ravi Kant Jaipuria, Chairman, RJ Corp, said, “The foundation of Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati, marks the beginning of our journey to bring world-class healthcare to every corner of India. We are proud to extend advanced maternal and child healthcare services to the people of Assam and the Northeast. Through this initiative, RJ Corp reaffirms its commitment to nation-building — by creating healthcare ecosystems that empower communities and improve lives.”
Devyani Jaipuria, Vice Chairperson, Cocoon Hospitals, added, “The foundation laying of Cocoon Hospital in Guwahati is an important milestone in RJ Corp Healthcare’s mission to make quality healthcare both accessible and affordable. This upcoming facility is envisioned not merely as a hospital, but as a community anchor — promoting preventive health, local employment, and awareness in women and child wellness. We are deeply committed to serving Assam with integrity, innovation, and excellence.”
The hospital will include operation theatres, digital diagnostic systems, and neonatal intensive care. It is expected to be operational within two years.
The launch marks RJ Corp Healthcare’s expansion into the Northeast, as part of its plan to develop a network of healthcare institutions offering services across multiple regions.
