Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, in collaboration with Medtronic, organised a medical conclave that brought together more than 100 doctors. The event focused on the Hub and Spoke model of healthcare delivery and the role of artificial intelligence in patient care.
The Hub and Spoke model, introduced in neurosurgical and critical care services at Gleneagles Hospital, connects smaller healthcare centres with a central hub hospital. This model is aimed at enabling faster diagnosis, improving decision-making, and supporting patient management across different regions.
Speaking at the event, Dr Bipin Chevale, CEO, Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, said, “At Gleneagles Hospital, we are committed to redefining healthcare delivery. Our collaboration with Medtronic reflects our shared vision of leveraging technology, AI, and innovative models like Hub & Spoke to ensure timely, accessible, and advanced treatment for patients. This initiative is not just about technology, but about saving lives with speed, accuracy, and compassion.”
Dr Nitin Dange, Director – Neurosurgery, Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, added, “The integration of AI in neurosurgery and critical care has opened new dimensions in precision, safety, and efficiency. Through the Hub & Spoke approach, we are ensuring that even complex neurosurgical interventions can be supported beyond tertiary centres, giving patients across the city and region access to world-class expertise in real time.” He further stated that AI integration will also help overcome the challenge of timely diagnosis and access to advanced stroke care through stroke-ready centres and achieving the golden window period.
The conclave featured interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and case studies that presented the impact of AI tools in neurology, neurosurgery, and critical care.
Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai stated that it will continue to focus on strengthening its role in healthcare delivery by adopting advanced technologies, forming collaborations, and equipping doctors with tools that support patient care.
