Medi Assist Healthcare Services has announced the integration of the Unique Identification Authority of India’s (UIDAI) Aadhaar Offline Verification Framework into its health benefits platforms after becoming a registered Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE).
According to the company, the integration enables consent-based identity verification across healthcare journeys, allowing members to access health benefits with reduced paperwork while lowering the risk of identity misuse, impersonation and document-related fraud.
Built on UIDAI’s Aadhaar Offline Verification Framework, the company stated that the capability allows members to verify their identity through a consent-based process by sharing only the information required for a specific transaction. According to Medi Assist, the process reduces the need for photocopies or physical identity documents while supporting member privacy and simplifying identity verification. The company added that location information captured during verification helps confirm that the healthcare interaction is genuine and that health benefits are accessed by the intended beneficiary.
According to Medi Assist, the capability supports insurers and employers by strengthening identity verification, reducing manual documentation and supporting claims processing. The company stated that the Aadhaar Offline Verification capability will also be made available to third-party administrators (TPAs), insurers and pension funds using its technology platforms.

According to the company, the capability is being integrated across multiple healthcare journeys. For cashless hospital admissions, members will be able to complete Aadhaar Offline Identity Verification through a consent-based digital process at hospital helpdesks without submitting or photocopying physical identity documents.
The company stated that Aadhaar Offline Identity Verification will also be introduced through the MAven app for reimbursement claims, enabling members to verify their identity digitally and reducing documentation-related delays.
According to Medi Assist, as India’s Digital Public Infrastructure continues to expand, digital identity is expected to play a larger role in healthcare delivery. The company stated that wider adoption of Aadhaar Offline Verification across the health insurance ecosystem can strengthen identity verification, reduce opportunities for fraud and impersonation, and support the delivery of health benefits to intended beneficiaries.
